2025 High School Retreat | Walnut Grove Christian School

Last week, our high school students stepped away from the familiar walls of classrooms and entered into something even bigger—our annual High School Retreat at Crowders Ridge Camp.

For two days, students and staff set aside their usual routines to create space for worship, connection, and growth. Surrounded by God’s creation, they gathered to hear from an inspirational speaker, lift their voices in praise, and share moments of prayer that set the tone for the school year ahead.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a retreat without plenty of fun and adventure. From team-building games that required teamwork and trust, to conquering the pamper pole and soaring on the high swing, our students learned firsthand the power of courage and encouragement. And in the quieter moments—during meals and out by the lake—new friendships were formed and existing ones grew even deeper.

The retreat is more than just an event on the calendar; it is a living expression of our Four Pillars:

  • Faith — seeking God together in worship and prayer
  • Relationships — building friendships that last beyond the classroom
  • Academics — preparing hearts and minds for a year of learning
  • Schedule — creating intentional space to pause, refresh, and connect

As our students return to campus, we are already seeing the difference this retreat makes. The laughter, unity, and spiritual encouragement from those two days are fueling the momentum for a strong year ahead.

Thank you for praying with us that the foundations built at Crowders Ridge will carry our students through this year and beyond. This is what it means to live out Life at the Grove: growing in faith, building lasting relationships, and striving for more together.
