During the past few weeks, Walnut Grove Christian School has been alive with Christmas traditions that embody the heart of our school’s Four Pillars: Academics, Faith, Relationships, and Schedule. These cherished activities not only bring joy but also reflect our commitment to fostering a Christ-centered community.
Here’s a glimpse into what’s been happening during the Christmas season:
Faith: Celebrating the Gift of Christ
The season always brings a focus on worship and service, reminding us of the true meaning of Christmas.
- Blessing of the Boxes: Our annual collection for Operation Christmas Child is a heartfelt tradition. Students, staff, and families gathered in the front circle to sing worship songs, pray over the shoeboxes, and hear an inspiring message about the gospel’s global impact.
- Senior Service: The senior class personally delivered the shoeboxes to Samaritan’s Purse, then stayed to serve by packing more boxes. Their dedication embodies what it means to live out faith in action.
- Special Chapel Days: Throughout December, chapel services highlight the hope and joy of Christ’s birth, helping our students reflect on the season’s spiritual significance.

Relationships: Building Community Through Celebration
Christmas is a time to connect and celebrate with one another.
- Spirit Week: Our students love dressing up for the various days of Christmas spirit week and showing off their holiday spirit.
- Classroom Christmas Parties: From preschoolers to seniors, every class found ways to celebrate with fun, fellowship, and festive treats.
- Gingerbread Decorating Contest: This year’s contest brought out creativity and friendly competition, with students working together to build edible masterpieces.
- Parent Gratitude: Our incredible parents made the season even sweeter by surprising teachers and staff with meals, cookies, breakfast items, and more. Thank you for your generosity and love!

Academics: Learning Through Creativity and Tradition Our Christmas traditions also provide opportunities for students to grow and shine.
- Christmas Musical: The annual musical is a highlight of the season. Our students worked diligently to perform a beautiful production that captured the joy of Christmas and showcased their God-given talents.

Schedule: Finding Balance Amid the Busy Season
We understand the Christmas season can be bustling, which is why we strive to create intentional moments of joy, rest, and reflection for our students and staff. From planned activities to unscheduled moments of fellowship, the season allows us all to pause and celebrate what truly matters.
The Christmas season is a beautiful reminder of how we, at Walnut Grove, are grounded in our Four Pillars and focused on glorifying Christ in all we do.
As we approach the end of the year, we thank you for being part of our WGCS family. May your Christmas be filled with faith, love, and treasured memories with your loved ones.
