During the summer, we often spend time reflecting on the stories from the end of the school year. Today, we’ve got two that we believe you will find inspiring. At the end of the year, we select our Teacher of the Year. This year’s honors go to Mrs. Letarshia Robinson. She teaches first grade and is a shining representative of our excellent faculty. Here are some words about her from one of her fellow first grade teachers, Mrs. Rivera: “Mrs. Robinson is the type of teacher every 1st grader would love to have! As she teaches, her classroom exudes a safe, loving atmosphere that sets the stage for these little ones to grow and bloom! Mrs. Robinson keeps busy patiently building a firm foundation for her students to succeed in upper grades. As she takes time to tenderly look into the eyes of each of her students, you can see the care and compassion she has for them. She is a true Foundation Builder at Walnut Grove Christian School, and has been one here for four years.”

The second end-of-year highlight that we reflect back upon is our graduation commencement ceremonies. Specifically, we’d like to highlight our valedictorian, Kelly Hatch, and salutatorian Nina Gallo. Nina will attend Winthrop University and earned the Winthrop Gold Scholarship and Palmettos Fellows Scholarship. She says, “Walnut Grove has taught me the importance of a good community.” Kelly will attend UNC Chapel Hill and had college acceptances earning over $275,000 in college scholarships. He says, “At Walnut Grove I have learned the importance of fellowship. I have learned how impactful it can be to pray, worship, study your bible, and practice your faith with other faithful Christians. Having an environment where I feel comfortable being vulnerable and most importantly feel supported has brought me great personal growth.” We are very proud of both Kelly and Nina and all that they have accomplished. Please join us in prayer for them, as well as all of our outstanding graduates, as they prepare for college and beyond.
