Celebrating WGCS Parents & PIT Crew Leadership | Walnut Grove Christian School

It’s national Parent Appreciation Day so today we wanted to tell the story of how our amazing parents impact Life at the Grove.

Whether it’s driving students to sports practices, attending performances, helping with science projects, packing lunch each day, providing a listening ear, or in one of the thousands of other ways, our WGCS parents are the best at serving our students, staff, and community.

Below is just one example where several dads showed up last year to help a student with their Eagle Scout project — building a bridge walkway for the school.

While we’re mentioning our awesome parents, we also wanted to take moment and highlight our PIT Crew. The Parent Involvement Team (or “PIT Crew” for short) is a volunteer body which coordinates activities to strengthen the Walnut Grove community and provide enhancements to its classrooms. The Parent Involvement Team seeks to provide all parents the opportunity to become involved and be part of the special traditions that make Walnut Grove vibrant and unique.

The Parent Involvement Team oversees a number of school-wide celebrations, plans activities to help welcome new families, hosts community events that also generate funds for the classrooms, and provides support and appreciation to the teachers and staff.

There is one PIT Crew member we’d like to specifically honor: Amber Lunderville. Amber was the PIT Crew president the past two years and did a phenomenal job leading the effort. We were blessed by her service.

We’d like to welcome Charlotte Kost as she’s taking over as President of the PIT Crew. Serving alongside her will be Ann Marie May as Vice President, and Ana Rodriguez will be remaining as Treasurer.

If you’d like more information about the Parent Involvement Team and how you can be involved, you can get it by clicking here.

Thank you to all of our WGCS parents and we wish you a happy Parent Appreciation Day!
